Hey guys, i have an 01 lesabre, and the headlight & parking light button on the left side has always stuck since I bought the car a couple years ago. When you press in on the button, the lights come on, but when you hit it again to make them go off, it won’t budge the button back out. In order to get them off I must bang on the console extremely hard or stick a screw driver by the light button and pull the button back out. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks,
Ryan

Yes, Ryan, the problem is that it’s a crappy design! What you have described is not uncommon. For a quick fix, pop off the button cap so at least it won’t stick down. You can apparently still operate the switch (my dad did this on my mom’s lesabre before going and getting the switch replaced).
Real fix is a NEW headlight switch. A used switch will likely have one or more burnt-out backlight bulbs, and may develop the same sticking problem.

Does your car have automatic headlight? I never bother to use the switch, as the lights come on at dusk on their own.

Mine does the same thing; that’s why as soon as I get it to pop
back out, I leave it on automatic and never touch the button again.

I just got a used 2001 LeSabre Custom. Yes the light switch buttons were sticking. I removed the buttons so I could depress the circle by hand. So when I get the new switch installed, how do i set it for automatic?
