You have to understand, you are buying helmet speakers for $10, so for the price you are paying these are quite exceptional. You’re not going to blow the doors off of anything, the sound isn’t amazing, but they are very functional speakers. You will have to remove the ear pads of your helmet in order to place the velcro strip where it needs to be, put the ear pads back and then place the speakers DIRECTLY in line with your ears. If you don’t line up the speakers with your ears, you will significantly reduce what you hear. I had to experiment with the speakers in different locations (all within centimeters of eachother) until I found the best spot. Once I found where I needed to place them, my music when from pretty much inaudible at a complete standstill to being able to hear pretty clear at speeds up to about 40 mph. Once you get past 40, the wind drowns out most of the sound, though you can still hear it slightly. It’s better than having nothing at all, and way better and more comfortable than ear buds. You are also not putting the strain on your motorcycle battery that you would with a full blown stereo system. So, for $10 these do what they need to. The key is all about placement!

I put them into the drop in pockets of my gmax helmet. Just sitting in my house (not even on a running motorcycle) the volume was extremely low. The only reason I ordered these was I could not find my uclear drop in speakers for a trip and the delivery date for these was before my trip started. Sure wish I could figure out where the uclear ones went, these will be almost worthless for hearing google map directions while riding.

Received the speakers today, took them out and immediately tested them….. unfortunately the one earpiece did not work. Returning for refund. I was hoping to get a bargain, I guess I’ll be forking up more money for better quality

So I got a new helmet that has no speaker pockets and there’s no room for blue tooth system (VR Robot) that was in my old helmet because of the thickness of the speakers. So I paired these speakers with a blue tooth receiver (Taotronics) affixed to helmet with some strong Velcro. It took some fidgeting, but once they were positioned just right, they sound fine. Actually pretty loud but that’s because they are literally pressing on my ears. If they are off even a little bit you can’t hear real well. My bike, a GSX 750, isn’t exactly quiet, but speakers are loud and clear up to maybe 65. I don’t expect much better at Hwy speeds. Better than expected, though, considering the reviews. I’ll see how long they last, but for now I’m happy.
