i have a +61404532026 pop. i drove to the store and when i came out the headlights were still on. when i got home i turned them on and off with the headlight control and they finally went off. the next day i used the lights going to work and when i got there i couldn’t get them to go off again, had to finally pull the battery cable. now i can’t get them to go off at all, ended up pulling the fuses. has any one else had this problem?

are you sure you didn’t accidentally activate the “follow me home” feature?

i checked that. book said to pull back on light switch and hold for 2 seconds to shut “follow me home” feature off. still the same.

mine doesn’t seem to work that way. as i remember, i have to cycle though with repeated pull backs to get back to zero seconds. i don’t remember holding it for 2 seconds turning anything off.

taken from the manual (2013 model in case it matters).

follow me home/headlight delay

when this feature is selected the driver can choose to

have the headlights remain on for a preset period of time.

activation

remove the key or turn the ignition to the off/lock

position, and pull the multifunction lever toward the

steering wheel, within two minutes. each time the lever

is pulled, the activation of the lights will be extended by

30 seconds. the activation of the lights can be extended to

a maximum of 210 seconds.

deactivation

pull the multifunction lever toward the steering wheel

and hold it for more than two seconds.

yes the problem was as many of the posts and i’ve seen with this make: the wiring in the hatch. because of their location, they wear out from the opening and closing of the hatch.

the dealership told me it was my power control module that needed to be replaced. it was about a $900 fix. good luck!

+1 probably the bcm, body control module, which is also the interior fuse box. with the headlight switch turned off, it can sometimes be released by tapping on the bcm cover with a screwdriver handle (for a one-time “fix”). when these relays have problems, headlights can stick off or on.

before beginning, it might be a good idea to have your battery tested.

for a look at the cause, this is a 4 part video showing how to remove the bcm, and explaining how he fixed the problem by re-soldering the relay connectors. another youtube person shows how the 2 boards are separated and the $8 relays replaced. (this video doesn’t show that step.)

as mentioned in the video, the bcm is programmed to the car. once it is replaced, the car is hooked to software to reprogram the new module to be recognized and to recognize your keys. the bcm costs about $450 at the dealer, the rest is, imho, an inflated replacement charge. it takes about 90 minutes to r&r the part.

if you’d like to take the gamble, and have someone who can pull the bcm, there are shops (probably in your town) that can replace the relays for $100, if you aren’t skilled at doing the work yourself. reprogramming won’t be needed, if the same bcm is reinstalled.

i had the same problem. hold the high-beam stick and you will see the menu “follow me” within’ second intervals option you can choose from. i just turned it off; i simply went from 30->60->90->180->260 and then the headlight will turn off on its own. i am going to confirm this. i’ll post results.

okay. i just arrived home from work and decided to turn off my lights after parking at home. the light wouldn’t go off. i figured there’s a timer setting. so i waited for like 20-30 seconds and it wouldn’t turn me off. i decided to troubleshoot by holding the high-beam shift to see maybe the…

i also posted the video on my original thread (see the link above). are you experining the same problem?

see video:

note: i couldn’t turn the headlight off.. that’s one of the problem. so i had to troubleshoot by using multi-function lever, holding it back for 2 second, enter menu, randomly select pre-timer, then hold it back for 2 second -> lights off.
