can someone please tell me the size of the headlight trim ring screw.

some jerk off decided they wanted my hl trim rings. i just bought new ones and they do not come with the screw to mount them.

jeff is correct == those are the hardest thing to get in there — one could run about a 1 1/2 regualr screw in there but then you have ruined the threads for life
just order some new ones–

i see you got it sorted, but just for anyone else in the same situation, one thing that has always worked for me is just an ordinary bugle head screw
who is long enough and a speed clip on the tab in the base of the headlight bowl:

just figured i’d report my findings for future web searchers…

my headlight trim ring screw just wont fit now
who i’ve corrected my aim after replacing a sealed beam. a hair too short it seemed.

so i took it to hd and tested in the sample board.

i found the best alternative is: metric m5 – .8 x 50mm long, phillips flat head machine screw, stainless. without the tapered end, there’s just a few more threads to reach and connect.
