Yellow Plastics for DR350SE?

my wife rides a 1999 dr350se and would like to change from white to yellow. i looked around the web a bit and didn’t find any yellow plastics. i know a dr200se head light shroud will fit and they did come in yellow. but fenders and side covers, can’t find.

anyone have a link?

thanks

mike,

thanks for taking the time to respond, but unless i’m missing something there isn’t anything available on the ronayers site and only a yellow rear fender on denniskirk that doesn’t allow a tail light. remember the se is street legal. to my knowledge, there was never a yellow dr350 ever made, so oem isn’t available.

still need help.

thanks

i believe you are right – the dr350 didn’t come in yellow…. so you have two options – you can get what you have painted – which is either $$ or time consuming if you diys.. if you troll around the web – you will see some folks have switched up the tail piece – i have seen a number of dr350’s with mx sytle rears modified to hold led lights – etc … if you switch tails – the side panels shouldn’t be too hard to get on – a front fender will be easy…. the killer will be the tank – you will have to go aftermarket to replace it….

there is no easy way to change colors – i found a black dr on the web in eu – but found no info…. i am actually redoing mine myself in black..

yea, i figured i would paint the tank and put new stickers on it. i’m not really convinced of the durability of painted plastics. i get your point about modifing the rear fender to hold leds. i’ve done something similar to my dr650. side panels sound like the biggest problem.

i would mod the mx fender with a tail light as stated above. as far as the side panels go, do they not make the side panel background stickers in any color? if so, get a universal fit and lay it over and trim to fit.

just an idea.

mike

hey, good idea on the universal fit sticker for the side panel.

thanks!!

front fenders are pretty generic, i suspect you could bolt on any dirt bike front fender without much trouble. white side pannels don’t look half bad and are the norm for most mx bikes. i always thought colored side pannels were goofy looking and a pita because then you have to cover them with white backgrounds so you can put numbers on so you can race….

i have made my 98 dr350 yellow. the front fender is from pre-2000 rm and the rear is a maier. maier does make the enduro rear fender in yellow. i believe chaparral lists it in their catolog. the side panels were painted with krylon fusion and that was two years ago. no peeling or chipping as long as you follow the directions. my bike is street legal but it is the dirt model.

the frame guards are works connection, but i think i purchased the last set ever made, because nobody lists them in their catolog anymore. i bought mine from chaparal a few years ago.yellow plastics for dr350se?

thanks, i’ve been scouring the web looking for some and haven’t found any for sale. brian over at maximum suzuki is supposed to be coming up with some soon. he also makes a rack for the dr350se and i’ve read that it’s nicer than the oem rack that’s not available anymore.

looks like i’m going to pick up the ’99 dr350se next weekend! can’t wait to get it home and try it out. looks to be in really nice condition and hase 3k miles on it. i’ll post some pics when i get it.

love that bike! didn’t see the maier enduro rear fender listed though in chaparral or parts unlimited. is your rear fender an enduro, or mx with a light setup? it’s very sano. i’d like to replicate it. i don’t want ufo rear universal b/c it’s too round and bulbous. thanks!

i have the maier mx fender. i looked in my chaparral catalog and the enduro fender is part #17002 available in white and yellow. the mx fender is part #17003, again available in white and yellow. i have the baja designs led taillight on my bike.

parts #’s are always a great help guys!! i love that led light, tucker-rocky is now distributing baja designs parts, meaning your local bike shop might sell them. retail is lower too! gonna go with that led light on the dr and on the xr600r.

what about the sub-fender? i love the short sub-fender with the tag and tail light. mx fender from maier, the tail and turn lights from baja designs, but not sure about the sub-fender. your rear fender assembly is a work of art. the combination of the led tail light and the flush mount turn lights is awesome!

the maier fender plastic is quite stiff. my bike never had the sub fender, only the street models. this is one way to shave a few pounds off the bike.
