little less than two decades ago, honda got on boar the truck train and presented the ridgeline. this japanese car manufacturer has been putting led bulbs in some of the modern vehicles in its fleet, but at the end of the day, at a certain point in time, you will find your self in a situation where you will need to make a replacement.

to be able to replace your old bulbs with leds, first, you need to know the correct bulb size, which the details in this article will provide.

why would you need to replace the bulbs on a ridgeline?

as you can see from the list above, some of the light bulbs are already led, so why not replace all of them? leds look more modern than older halogen or hid lights.

also, over the years, some of the light may stop working, start flickering, or just not shine as bright as they used to, and that leads to the second reason why you should replace them.  driving with a broken turn signal or headlight is not recommended and may get you into trouble if you get pulled over.

are there any good sides to using led bulbs on my ridgeline?

there are a few, all equally important.

the main reason people replace their old bulbs with leds is that led bulbs last much longer than halogen or hid. you can find bulbs that will be rated for well over 30 or 40 thousand working hours, which is much more than any of the old-fashioned alternatives. longevity aside, you would also be getting bulbs that are brighter than all the other options.

longevity aside, you also get reduced power consumption. this sounds silly because you are not paying an electric bill for your vehicle, but it is not to be ignored. contrary to popular belief, all electrical aspects of your vehicle get their power from the alternator, not the battery. having a low consumption led bulbs around your vehicle means that the alternator will have to send less energy to them, so int a way it will work less, which will make it run longer.

steps for replacing a headlight bulb on a honda ridgeline

before you proceed, make sure the power is disconnected from the vehicle’s battery.

remove the plastic cover covering the headlights and the radiator. it is held with plastic clips, so pull it up gently to avoid breaking them. the passenger side headlight is easily reachable, but for the driver side, you will need to unscrew the two screws holding the air intake plastic and remove it. turn the bulb casing with the cable and pull it out. replace the bulbs and put everything back together.

is the headlight assembly replaceable?

yes, you can purchase an
whole assembly with led bulbs pre-installed.

do i need to replace the bulbs that are already leds?

you do not need to if you do not want to.
