unfortunately, the layout of the pdf doc doesn’t make it easy to pick out what’s new. better to wait until the official press release, when it’ll all be spelled out for us in detail.

as i’ve said before, the 2017.5 is a very minor update, with only one or two new features per trim level. the thing i’m excited about is that the touring spec gains heated seats and navigation as standard equipment (about $1000 in new standard features at the same base price). after all of the great 2017 comfort/convenience updates (e.g., automatic headlights, rain sensing wipers, etc), these were the only two features still remaining on my wish list…so i’m a happy camper.

all 2017.5 models are also indicated to gain led taillights, but i’ll believe that when i see it (…last year’s spec also indicated led taillights, but the touring and sport didn’t get them).

actually, all 3d gen mazda 6’s have led taillights. but the from 2016 on they did have a new style of taillights on the gts and touring w/ tech, while the original one carried on with sport and touring w/o tech.

looks like the touring’s premium package adds leather seats to replace the heated seats that became standard.

jerry, by that do you mean:

1. all of the bulbs in the sport/touring tail lights are led?

2. some of the bulbs in the sport/touring tail lights are led and some are incandescent bulbs?

3. something else?

i know the center tail light is led, but i thought the main tail lights still used incandescent bulbs on the sport/touring trims

its between answer 1 and 2. for 2014 and 2015 models the main brake lights and center are indeed led across the board, the small little marker/accent lights in the trunk lid and in warp around area of rear lights are 194/w5w incans. this is the original version 1s

the 2016+ sport and touring have these version 1 led tails, while the t w/tech and gt have the version 2 updated led tail lights

edit: here it is, its in the owners manual:

brake lights/taillights, high-mount

brake light, side-turn signal lights

due to the complexity and difficulty of

the procedure, the led bulbs must be

replaced by an authorized mazda dealer.

note

led bulb replacement is not possible because

it is built into the unit. replace the unit.
