i read all the reviews and i will tell you to listen to mine, these bulbs are absolute junk. i replaced 15 year old original bulbs because i was having trouble seeing at night and figured they had to be going bad by now. these bulbs are not only not brighter, i think they may be dimmer! horrible, i had such high hopes these would be better and they are not, for $40+ dollars they should be illegal to sell. i wish i could get my money back. stick with the original bulb since these are no brighter and if the other reviews are true they wont last very long anyway. i could have got the led’s for the same money.

i bought these silverstar ultra bulbs for my husband’s truck for xmas. i thought they would make a nice difference, but they truly do not. after changing one bulb, we compared one to the other and there was no color difference at all. while driving on a dark and dry road, all we thought was…”great…$50 wasted”. i knew i should have spent $20 more to get him the kensun hid kit like he had on his last vehicle. if you’ve had hid headlights before, there’s absolutely no comparison. hid lights do take an hour (or 2 for the inexperienced) to install, but they are a very straightforward install and well worth the extra time and cost….especially if you drive alot at night. please!…save your money and buy a kensun hid kit because it is just far-far better. do your research.

i purchased these specifically because they say extra white, extra bright, etc. i couldnt tell any difference between these and the stock phillips bulbs i pulled out. i wasn’t expecting hids but these were almost yellow, highly disappointed, i returned them. for $44 you can get a decent pair of led bulbs.

the boss’s mini cooper had standard halogen headlamps which just quite didn’t provide her with sufficient light. we didn’t want to spend big $ on hid lights and reviewed dozens of halogen replacements. these bulbs do provide more “down the road” light without blinding oncoming drivers. very easy to change the bulbs but remember to wear gloves as the oils on your fingers can damage halogen bulbs.

i installed these on a 2010 f150. they are definitely brighter and whiter than stock. the low beam is especially improved while the high beam has a very defined pattern but would need a huge increase in lumens over stock bulbs to really make a difference downrange. this simply cannot be accomplished with incandescent technology but the whiter light illuminates better and is much easier on the eyes with increased in colors and street signs pop out more. for me it’s all i need and i am happy not to be one of those tools who thinks blinding oncoming traffic with their led lights is cool. should be legislation against that kind of thing. definitely worth the $40 bucks and cheap enough to purchase a spare set in the event of an untimely failure. can’t speak to longevity because its only been a month but i will update once i have something to report.

these bulbs are probably the best halogen lamps available and are reasonably priced. very easy to install once you can get access to the back of the headlight housing. they illuminate a much wider area than the factory bulbs, making them very effective in seeing animals, etc. on the edge of the roadway. the only drawback is the somewhat shortened longevity (~325 hours), but with normal use, they should last 2-3 years before needing replacement. that’s not a big issue given the vast amount of light that these bulbs provide.

this bulb was great in whiteness and brightness but only lasted 2 years which since my stock bulbs lasted 8 i am pretty unimpressed with the life of the bulbs. i used gloves to put them in so no touching them and i will try them again but will look for something different if they do not hold up better. my driving was about 13000 miles over 2 years and mainly daytime. i also tend to turn them off during the day so i definitely expected more out of them.

i installed these in my 2011 f150 xlt. the stock bulbs left a lot to be desired. i read that these were anywhere from no improvement to a great improvement. i have to say that they work well to extend my nighttime view of the road. they are a nice bright color; no more yellow light. my low beams have widened quite a bit so that the roadside is easily visible on the darkest night. high beams illuminate much better as well. the headlights on the f150 are not very good stock. these bulbs will improve your night vision.

as a note for installation. if you are installing these on a newer f150 you must remove each headlight assembly to replace the bulb. carefully remove the plastic screw that holds the rubber piece to the assembly. then remove three bolts (7/16″ or 10mm), 2 on top and 1 on the vertical radiator mount. you must pull hard to remove the headlight assembly since they are held in place by a spring clip. it will take a lot of effort. pull straight out because if you bend the assembly toward the fender you may break off the clip. i needed to use a pair of channel locks to gently grip and twist the bulb socket. be sure to handle the bulb with a cloth to avoid touching the glass. any contamination can cause the bulb to fail. assemble in reverse and everything should work fine.

keep the old bulbs for an emergency replacement. other reviews i have read say that these do not last much longer than the warranty (12 months). regardless, it is worth it to me to be able to see better at night.

3.0 out of 5 stars better than stock, but not impressive

probably about 20% brighter than stock lights on jeep wrangler (which are really bad). low beams are noticeably brighter but high beams maybe 10%. perhaps an alignment issue. given short life of these bulbs, i set my daytime running lights to turn signal lights only. not really worth a $60 upgrade to stock lights but mine were 7 years old and about to die anyway.

what i like is the light itself, it’s brighter than i expected. though i can’t tell it’d durability at the moment, using the light bulb for a couple of nights now.

what i didn’t like was the shopping time (i ordered this light alone). it was still in the time frame given, but it arrived on the last day late in the afternoon. i still give 5 🌟 for this light anyway…

3.0 out of 5 stars did i buy an online second?

one of the lights worked as it should. the second light flashed very bright and burnt out the very first time i used it on high beam. now what do i do???? – no local store to return it to and added shipping costs. online shopping just became a financial hindrance rather than a benefit and made this purchase very inconvenient.
