So I found some aureate wheels – getting them this weekend. Got me thinking though – for my silver car, should I paint the wheels a unlike color ? And should I paint the brake calipers while I ‘m at it ?

I ‘ve never been a winnow of gold wheels, but that ‘s a personal preference. I ‘d decidedly do a different color for a silver car. How about a dark grey ? Some contrast with silver would look nice. red calipers, of course !

ashtray I had a spare located of 96M wheels when I had my NA. Painted them bronze – car was darkness blue. I had debated between bronze and amber – after I painted them, I wished I had gone with gold. I put my oem argent 96M wheels back on. ( sold the car with both sets of wheels )

Two of the things I hate most in all of automobiledom : crimson calipers and yellow calipers.
I love the Estoril Blue BMW calipers, but think they only truly look estimable on Estoril Blue cars.
My BRG NA came with amber BBS wheels. Almost 5 years ago, one was damaged beyond animate and I have n’t found a replacement. recently, I came across a video of my car when it distillery had the wheels. It looked fantastic. Someday, I ‘ll find a surrogate and probably pay way more than they ‘re worth to have them refurbished.
My ’94M has the OEM polished wheels. I love them with the Montego Blue paint. I love them so much that I ‘m seriously considering spending about $ 1,400 to have a brand new spare part set. I am a huge fan of the NA8 OEM 14 ” wheels, in silver or polished. When the sunlight is shining, you ca n’t beat Montego Blue and polished, though.
I want to see if Wilwood polished calipers will fit under the 14 ” wheels. If then, I want them. Bad.

JT58 I hand painted the calipers RED on my past 2010 MS3. I thoroughly cleaned the calipers and applied, hand brushed the paint as per the instructions- I did 2 coats. It looked beneficial when new although the brake debris showed a lot against the red and they appeared cheating and needed frequent clean. And the caliper key chipped and flaked off in some spots and required touch ups. Based on my have with the red and hand applied paint, I would go with a dark semblance that would not show as much brake dust and grime- like a dainty medium or benighted gray.
For wheels, I like iniquity colored- like a blue gray, dark silver medal or about blacken. Pure black besides looks well except it shows every specification of crap ( I had gloss black wheels on my past 2014 SI and know from experience ) and a dark gray or silver looks great and does not show the soil or dirt closely deoxyadenosine monophosphate much. Best colors are the dark grey color on my ND Club and a similar color on my 2016 WRX. I can not tell when they are dirty- and they look bang-up against the white and loss colors of the cars.
Colors I do not prefer are bright colors- scandalmongering, orange, – I see a few cars around wit these colors and some people must like them- to each his own. gunmetal I think besides looks good on certain cars, depending on key color. Plain silver is just OK- seems about every car out there has silver wheels.
For your ash grey cable car, I vote a dark grey for the wheels and calipers- this is what I was planning to do with my 2010 MS3 ( it was undimmed silver in color ) just before it got crashed .

My Cayman being an “ S ” has factory bolshevik calipers, so leaving that entirely.
My Midnight Blue Mica NB2 LS came with gunman metal grey calipers when I bought it and it looks very good. The dark blue and medium gray have a great contrast. I do n’t know what kind of paint the former owner used on the calipers but they still look fresh after six of my owning it .

For my 2001 SE BRG I restored the banal wheels with a unhorse polish and painted by calipers a very black black cheery color. I besides painted the license plate frames and the grill screen I made and the tow hooks the same color. I like the color with the fleeceable.

Greasyman I painted my calipers with Duplicolor Aluminum Cast Coat engine paint. They looked a draw cleaner, but pretty stock. If I wanted a short more flash I might go with bull, which looks good with a fortune of colors. I like bull because it has a lifelike metal front, and while it catches the eye it is n’t excessively flashy .

Aluminum foil is excellent and in truth comfortable to use for masking the area around the brake. Just shape it to whatever you ‘re putting it on, very simple to do .
