I currently use an SS 1500 helmet that’s made by Seven Sins. I noticed that it has a “Quick Release” chin strap which in my opinion is awesome, plus the helmet fit me very well.

I didn’t think far enough down the road though. I was wondering how I should go about locking my helmet to my bike while it’s parked since I’m unable to use the helmet locks.

Anyone else using a helmet with no “D” rings? How do you keep your helmet from being stolen without having to lug it around every time you park?

Just take it with you? I take my helmet everywhere I go when I ride unless I’m on a military base. If women can manage a purse, some of which are pretty large in size, I’m sure you can tout a helmet about. Without the D-rings though, it’s going to be pretty much impossible to attach the helmet to the bike stock that someone wont be able to just undo quickly and still steal your helmet. It’s pretty common that if a thief wants to steal a motorcycle helmet, they’ll just cut the straps and take it anyways.

I do not recommend leaving a helmet on a bike. Lots of bad things can happen to it. Some of them, you won’t know about it. Some of them, you will. Not-recommended!

You can get a cable lock and loop it around your triple tree/fork and thru the visor and just leave the helmet on your mirror. Personally, I just take it with me wherever I go. Wouldnt want to get stranded without a helmet if someone does decide to steal it!

Unless its my less expensive passenger helmet I’d never leave it on my bike.

But hey to each its own.

As others have said carry it with you. Even with a D-ring you are essentially locking your helmet with a peice of string. Your helmet is nothing but a pocket knife swipe away from a theif who wants it.

So are there people riding without chin straps or having the helmets repaired?

Both don’t sound very likely but I guess that wouldn’t stop a person dumb enough to steal in the first place.
