Here’s a dumb question:
What is the maximum wattage of bulb we can put into our stock wiring harness before we burn up the harness? It seems like our stock 9007 bulbs are around 65 watts.
Has anyone run 100w bulbs in them before? Any issues?

On my Ford Explorer before I had HID’s, I ran 100w halogens and it melted the connector. I bought high temp connectors at Advance Auto to prevent this.
With that being said, why not just go HID? They only pull 35watts.

That’s my dilemma. I’m not keeping the car forever, so I don’t know if I want to drop a couple hundred on an hid kit.

Duuuude lol. Even if you go 55w its $40 lol. I have this kit, as do many others.

How easy is the installation on these kits?
That OPT7 kit looks pretty easy to install, is that the case? No wire splicing? That $35 price tag is nice too.

DDM is plug and play. Velcro the ballasts on the inner fender, or where ever you please really and youre done

For the guys that ordered from DDM Tuning how long did it take you guys to get it? I ordered the 35w kit and brackets and they shipped them from China, only thing I bought from them was because of the good reviews from MM members.

IIRC, the factory low beams are 55w, and the high beams are 60w or 65w. Virtually all cars have 55w low beams from the factory. I believe that’s the legal limit. I’ll have to look it up to verify, but im almost sure thats what it is.
