2 Headlights problem of the 2016 Toyota Tundra
Failure Date: 01/27/2021
Headlights in the on or auto position randomly go out when blinker returns to neutral position after being engaged. This has happened while in motion at low and highspeeds on city streets and highways and coming out of a completed stop. Cannot determine if this is a short in wiring harness or if triggered by faulty component.

4 Headlights problem of the 2017 Toyota Tundra
Failure Date: 05/07/2020
When operating the vehicle with the headlight stalk/selector on “auto”, the dash lights and headlights suddenly go totally black or out. I’m able to turn the lights back on by moving the selector to “on”. The problem is it happens and sometimes you don’t know all of your lights are off when driving, especially in the city with other bright lights. This can be very dangerous. This has happened several times, so I no longer use the auto function on my stalk. . . Too dangerous.
5 Headlights problem of the 2011 Toyota Tundra
Failure Date: 03/04/2020
The lens cover on vehicle headlights are not clear after several years of use, they are becoming fogged over because they are made out of plastic and the sand from other vehicles going down the road sandblast them. This causes the headlight to not project the light down the road causing the vehicle to out drive the headlights. This can cause vehicle accidents and pedestrian involved accidents. They used to be made from glass and I would like to know why this is not a safety issue that is being addressed. Thank you.

6 Headlights problem of the 2016 Toyota Tundra
Failure Date: 02/25/2020
The headlights and interior dash lights randomly turn off when using the blinker. I have owned this truck for 3 months now and it has happened on four different occasions. I cannot replicate this issue on my own.
7 Headlights problem of the 2015 Toyota Tundra
Failure Date: 01/28/2020
The dash instrument and gauge lights do not work during daytime when lights are set to automatic. Basic instruments are not clear and require that the driver be distracted much longer than is acceptable to try to read the dark instrument cluster. This condition is present in all driving conditions whether stationary or in motion. The local Toyota dealership instructed me to drive with the parking lights on so the dash would be lit. The dealership said this problem is present on all newer Toyota Tundras. Driving in the daytime with the parking lights on is illegal. Additionally, drivers are much more likely not to turn on the headlights at dusk as most drivers are use to having the lights set to auto. This and the distraction of trying to read dark and difficult to read instruments will cause accidents.

Tl the contact owns a 2019 Toyota Tundra. When the contact dimmed the headlights, there was limited visibility. The contact was unable to see much further beyond the hood. The contact described the condition as being similar to having a brick wall in front of his vehicle, blocking the headlights. The vehicle was taken to dick dyer Toyota (240 killian commons parkway, columbia, SC 29203, (+61404532026) where it was determined that the headlights were in the specifications for parts. The dealer only tested the vehicle during the morning rather than at night when the testing was needed. The manufacturer was contacted and provided a case number. The manufacturer called the dealer and confirmed that everything was ok. The failure mileage was 3,500.

Daytime running lights on sr5 option are amber in color and not allowed except as parking lights under CO traffic regulations. Toyota is apparently aware of problem but has not standardized headlight options.

12 Headlights problem of the 2001 Toyota Tundra
Failure Date: 02/26/2010
I own a 2001 Tundra. I just learned of 4 recalls: nhsta #09e025000, 09v444000, 06e026000, and 06e065000. We received no notification from the companies required to do so. The truck is registered. We purchased the truck new and have been the only owners. We have not changed address since the purchase. I believe the failure to be notified was deliberate to avoid the cost of compliance with the recall. I have been unable to get any of the 4 companies involved to respond to phone messages.

13 Headlights problem of the 2009 Toyota Tundra
Failure Date: 02/15/2010
The headlights on 2007-current Toyota Tundra’s are very blinding. Every time I approach on of those Tundra’s it looks as if their high beams are on and I am always constantly flashing them thinking they left their high beams on, but I become shocked when they flash me back ( with their actual high beams). I drive in a SUV, so if they are blinding me, I can’t imagine what it looks like in a car! its very hard to try staying on road when they go past its so bright, a couple times I actually went off the road a little. I think this is a seriously safety issue for night drivers, every single Tundra is like this. Now I know truck headlights may appear to be a little bit brighter because they sit higher, but I have yet to see any other truck even come close to the brightness on the Tundra’s. It would be great if this matter was checked into, who knows how many people have gone off the road when these ugly trucks roll by.

14 Headlights problem of the 2002 Toyota Tundra
Failure Date: 10/01/2009
I have a 2002 Toyota Tundra sr5. Headlight lens material has become blurred and more opaque in recent years, causing driving at night to be less illuminated and more hazardous. This began developing a few years ago, approximately 2005. I attempted to use a lens polishing product, but that produced only marginal improvements. The lenses continue to deteriorate over time, and it is only the headlight lenses while the same lens material is crystal clear over the marker lights. The lens material was poorly designed for use with headlights and appears to react poorly to the higher heat produced from the headlight bulbs. This is a serious safety hazard.
15 Headlights problem of the 2007 Toyota Tundra
Failure Date: 10/16/2007
Head beam aiming conforming to manufacturers specifications is too high blinding on coming vehicles. On coming vehicles frequently flash or turn on their high beams prompting me to reciprocate and and exacerbating the situation. Dealer states that alignment cannot be corrected.

2007 Toyota Tundra with headlight problems. Consumer states that other drivers would flash their high beams at him.
